Abstract
The donkeys of the Ladakh region were characterized and compared for morphometric attributes with Spiti donkeys of Himachal Pradesh, Sindhi donkeys of Rajasthan and Brown type donkeys of AP. These donkeys showed signicant differences from Spiti donkeys in majority of morphometric attributes both in male and female animals. Besides differences in their adaptive traits, the Ladakhi donkeys also showed signicant differences from Brown type donkeys of AP and Sindhi donkeys in many morphometric attributes especially when female animals were compared.
