Abstract

This research work deals with the study on biofilm forming ability of coagulase negative Staphylococcus aureus and its correlation between their antibiogram pattern. The bacteria were isolated from clinical samples and characterized. Antibiogram pattern of the isolates was determined by Kirby-Bauer method and results were interpreted as per CLSI guidelines. Biofilm forming ability of the isolates was determined by tube adherence, microtitre plateand congo red agar plate methods. The results showed a strong correlation between MDR and biofilm forming ability of the isolates. This research throws light on new strategies for treating persistent mastitis infection in diary.

Key Words: Mastitis, MDR, MRSA, Biofilm formation
