Abstract

The study of acute toxicity was carried out by administration of 312.5, 625, 1250 and 2500 mg/kg bw of Immunoglobulin Y (IgY) anti Mycobacterium tuberculosis and evaluated by the incidence of lethality for 14 days which used in the calculation of the Lethal Dose 50 value (LD50). While subacute toxicity conducted by administration 250, 500 and 1000 mg/kg bw of the IgY anti Mycobacterium tuberculosis for 28 days. The LD50 of the IgY anti Mycobacterium tuberculosis was greater than 2500 mg/kg bw. In subacute toxicity no change in haematological and biochemical parameter. The IgY anti Mycobacterium tuberculosis did not cause toxic effect.

Key Words: Ig Y anti Mycobacterium tuberculosis, LD50, Haematological and Biochemical parameter.
