Epidemiology of Gastrointestinal Nematodosis in Goats in Perambalur District of Tamilnadu

Abstract

This study was conducted to understand nematode parasite epidemiology in goats maintained under eld condition at Poolambady village of Perambalur district in Tamil Nadu by monitoring monthly faecal egg counts and genera of parasites present for a period of one year. While increase in egg counts in goats were observed during August to December in goats under eld condition, the egg counts were signicantly (P<0.05) higher in rainy season with dominance of haemotophagous nematode Haemonchus spp
