A Pathological Study of Visceral Gout in Poultry

Abstract

In a poultry farm near Hyderabad, around 25 layer birds aged around four months showed symptoms of anorexia and emaciation in spite of good managemental practices. Post-mortem examination of 12 birds revealed chalky white deposits in the body cavity and on various other organs. The disease was diagnosed as visceral gout based on the typical lesions found during post-mortem
