Abstract

This study examines the molecular characterisation and comparative phylogenetic analysis of Ehrlichiacanis (Ludhiana isolate) targeting thepartial 16S ribosomal RNA gene. The results of study revealed a very high identity (99–100%) with the gene sequences from Nagpur, Mizoram, and Bareilly isolates from India as well as from those from other countries viz., USA, Japan, Spain, Brazil, Italy, Malaysia, Thailand, Cuba, Austria, Tunisia, Turkey, West Indies, and Israel. However, the lowest identity was observed with E. platys(91.5%) and Anaplasmaphagocytophilum (91.5%).

Key Words: Ehrlichiacanis, PCR, Phylogenetic analysis
