Abstract
The current research was designed to differentiate between males and females using the recently published referring sequences of the female W chromosome. Specic PCR primers were designed to amplify 233 bp and 170 bp of AKAP8 gene, and WIZ gene, respectively. All the results revealed no differences between both sexes since both W chromosome-specic PCR primers were found to amplify other somatic positions within the included males. However, extremely high specicity was observed in quails’ identity detection which suggests that both designed AKAP8 and WIZ amplicons represent highly attractive markers for this species identication
