Abstract

This study was aimed to investigate the effects of Euphoria longan (Lour.) Steud. seeds decoctum (ELD) on the number of leukocytes and thrombocytes in the case of burn in Rattus norvegicus. Rattus norvegicus were divided into four groups, control group (P0) and three treatment groups with ELD 25% (P1), ELD 50% (P2), and ELD 100% (P3). A burn was made in the skin of back area using metal template (1 cm2). The treatments were applied topically three times a day for seven days. The samples were tested with the automated hematology analyzer. This study shows that ELD is able to increase the leukocytes but decrease the thrombocytes on burn in Rattus norvegicus

Key Words: Decoctum, leukocytes, thrombocytes, burn.
