Congenital Phimosis in a Bhutia Pup and its Surgical Treatment

Abstract

A 2-month old Bhutia pup, the native breed of Uttarakhand, having an abnormality in urination since birth, with a history of urinary incontinence, abnormal swelling of pre-penile preputial part while urination and dysuria was brought to the Teaching Veterinary Clinical Complex. The condition was recognized as congenital phimosis, and surgical correction was done by reconstructing opening for urination as per recommended procedure. Recovery of the condition after surgery was observed by monitoring of animal with post-operative antibiotic therapy
