Surgical and Clinicopathological Features of Bovine Ocular Squamous Cell Carcinoma

Abstract

Clinico-pathological characteristics and the surgical management of 22 Holstein Friesian dairy cattle with BOSCC were studied. The affected animals were in the age group of three to seven years and the most common site was the third eyelid followed by the whole of the ocular region. Histopathologically, tumors were classied as three poorly differentiated, 11 moderately differentiated and eight well differentiated carcinomas. There was recurrence in ve out of eight tumor excision cases and no recurrence in 14 enucleated cases.
