Effective Clearance of Vermic Toxins by Haemodialyzer with Small Surface Area

Abstract

Dogs presented to Madras Veterinary College Teaching Hospital with history of anorexia, vomiting and diarrhoea was subjected for preliminary hemato biochemical examination, radiography and ultrasonography. Dogs having elevated values of blood urea nitrogen (BUN) and creatinine were subjected to Intermittent hemodialysis (IHD) by using commercial hemodialyser with the surface area 0.2 m2, 0.5m2 and 1.0m2. Efciency of the hemodialyzer and the treatment process was evaluated.
