Abstract

Prophylactic control of subclinical mastitis is the most important and effective management strategy to reduce mastitis in dairy cows. The present investigation was conducted to evaluate the efcacy of prophylactic management methods viz., TANUVAS MASTI Guard and GADUVAS herbal teat dip against subclinical mastitis in dairy cows. Out of 30 cows screened, eighteen of them were found to show the subclinical mastitis. They were divided into three equal groups. One additional group of six normal healthy cows free from subclinical mastitis were taken as control group. The somatic cell count, milk yield and pH were recorded in all the groups before and 6 weeks after treatment. TANUVAS MASTI Guard is found to be efcacious in reducing the incidence of subclinical mastitis.
