Abstract

This study aimed to improved quality of spermatozoa by giving powdered pumpkin seeds and vitamin E in domestic rooster which exposed to heat stress. Different level of pumpkin seeds powder (0%, 15%, 20%, 25%)and 0.02% vitamin E were mixed with basal diet, then fed adlibitum to the chicken. Volume, pH, Concentration, motility, viability, abnormality of spermatozoa and fertility of egg were measured twice a week after a month. This research indicate that supplementation of concentrate feed with 20% pumpkin seed powder and 0.02% vitamin E could signicantly improve quality of spermatozoa which exposed heat stress, therefore it could support productivity of domestic rooster in tropical area.
