Abstract

This study was to improve the antibacterial effect of photodynamic therapy (PDT) with ozone-added for reducing the Staphylococcus aureus biolms. PDT involves a combination of photosensitizers (curcumin and coproporphyrin) and the appropriate light source. The reduction monitored by measuring the optical density at 595nm. The results show that the reduction levels difference in PDT increases when ozone is added. The PDT treatment with ozone aids to biolms reduction compared to the PDT.
