Abstract

A new plant extract based formulation was given to 12 domesticated equines over a period of six weeks. The animals were divided into 3 groups consisting of 4 equines each. The first group served as control, whereas the equines of the other two groups were orally administered with phytoextracts formulation for a period of six weeks. The phytoextracts were highly effective in enhancing the overall health, growth, body weight, hair coat texture, faecal consistency and general performance of equines. Further, it also reduced cases of colic as well as constipation. Digesteez (Nutricare) gave encouraging results and could be a promising combination for gut health and as a herbal tonic for equines
