Abstract

Thirty apparently healthy Labrador Retriever dogs had been screened for occult cardiomyopathy using six minute walk test. Dogs with occult cardiomyopathy had longer recovery time when compared with apparently healthy dogs. This was supported by evidence in the radiography increased Vertebral Heart Score 12.01 ± 0.31), Electrocardiography (tachycardia, arrhythmia and low voltage QRS complex) and Echocardiography (increased Left ventricular internal diameter diastole and decreased ejection fraction and fraction shortening).
