Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Ketapang leaves crude extract (KLCE) on diabetic mice. Mice were divided into 6 groups: KN (normal), KD (negative control), KM (positive control; given 6.5 mg/kg metformin), and KP1 (treatment group, were given 50 mg of KLCE), KP2 (100 mg of KLCE), and KP3 (200 mg body weight of KLCE) per kg. Body weight fasting blood glucose level, tissue glucose tolerance, and Langerhans islet diameters were analyzed. The results showed that the administration of KLCE could increase mice’s body weight, tissue glucose tolerance, Langerhans islet diameter, and reduce fasting blood glucose level
