Abstract

An experiment was conducted on eighteen (18) growing goats for a period of 90 days. The experimental goats were divided into three groups viz. T1, T2, and T3, respectively with six kids. The experimental diets consisting of Jowar kadabi (dry roughage) in treatment group (T1), treatment group (T2) was fed with dried Groundnut haulms and group (T3) was fed with a 50:50 combination of Jowar kadabi and Groundnut haulms. The concentrate mixture was provided to all experimental groups. The digestibility trial was conducted for 7 days and observations were recorded. The observations of digestibility coef cients of various nutrients viz., dry matter (%), organic matter (%), crude protein (%), ether extract (%), crude  bre (%) and nitrogen free extract (%) differ signi cantly (P≤0.05) among the treatment groups; indicating the use of groundnut haulms as a replacement of jowar dry fodder without any adverse effect on digestibility of nutrients in goats.
