Abstract

A 20days old sun conure was presented with the history of oozing of ingesta from the crop region for the past one day. The bird was fed with commercial baby bird formula which was heated in the microwave before feeding. Physical examination revealed perforation of the crop and ingesta coming out through the opening. Surgery was performed under isoflurane anaesthesia. Crop and skin were sutured using No.4.0 PGA. The bird had an uneventful recovery.
