Endoscopic Diagnosis of Transmissible Venereal Tumor (TVT) in the trachea of a Chippiparai Dog

Abstract

A two and a half years old Chippiparaimale dog was presented to the Veterinary Clinical Complex, Veterinary College and Research Institute, Tirunelveli with a history of dyspnea and open mouth breathing for the past 8 days. Radiographic examination revealed a soft tissue mass in the trachea and Bronchscopic examination revealed a soft tissue mass in the cervical trachea. Histopathological examination of the mass revealed the disease condition as Transmissible Venereal tumor. The dog died and post mortem also revealed the presence of a tumor in the trachea. The case is a rare presentation of Disseminated TVT in trachea.
